A Quiet Moment With Two Lovers

In this piece, I wanted to capture a fleeting, tender pause in the wild, a moment of stillness between two red-tailed black cockatoos. These striking birds, native to Australia, are now endangered. But beyond their conservation status, what drew me to them was their quiet intimacy.  

There is something deeply human in how they interact, protective, gentle, and attuned. As I drew this piece, I imagined the world falling away around them: the noise, the loss, and the danger, just for a second, replaced by presence and connection.  

This artwork celebrates connection in its purest form, not loud or performative, but grounding. It also serves as a reminder that these beautiful creatures and the quiet they bring are vanishing.
